Tuition Fees

Tuition fees vary depending on the program:

  • Bachelor's Degree Programs:
    • Tuition: 26,000 RMB per academic year.
    • Accommodation: On-campus dormitory fees range from 500 to 1,000 RMB per month, depending on room type and size.
  • Master's Degree Programs:
    • Tuition: 30,000 to 50,000 RMB per academic year.
    • Accommodation: On-campus dormitory fees range from 500 to 1,000 RMB per month, depending on room type and size.
  • Doctoral Degree Programs:
    • Tuition: 35,000 RMB per academic year.

IELTS Requirements

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • English-Taught Programs:
    • Applicants must provide TOEFL or IELTS scores.
      • TOEFL: Minimum score of 70.
      • IELTS-Academic: Minimum score of 5.5.
    • TOEFL DI Code of USTC is 8965. TOEFL MyBest score is accepted.
    • One Skill Retake in IELTS is not accepted.
  • Chinese-Taught Programs:
    • HSK Level 5 or above is required for liberal arts and business programs.
    • HSK Level 3 or above is required for science programs and the program of Chinese Language.

Application Process

Application Process:

  1. Online Application:
    • Create an Account: Register on USTC's online application portal.
    • Complete the Application Form: Fill out the necessary details during the application period.
    • Upload Required Documents: Submit all necessary documents as specified.
    • Application Fee: Pay a non-refundable application fee of 400 RMB online at the time of submission.
  2. Document Submission:
    • Photocopy of the passport front page (valid on or after March 1, 2026).
    • High school graduation certificate.
    • Academic transcripts for all courses in high school.
    • Language proficiency certificates (TOEFL or IELTS scores).
    • Two recommendation letters from high school teachers.
    • An 800-word personal statement in Chinese or English.
    • Award-winning certificates related to academic courses during high school (if applicable).
    • For applicants who have given up their original Chinese citizenship and become foreign citizens:
      • Documents certifying the cancellation of Chinese citizenship.
      • Documents certifying the cancellation of Chinese household registration.
      • Documents certifying the acquisition of foreign citizenship.
      • Exit and Entry Record on passport, from April 30, 2021, to April 30, 2025.

    • On-campus accommodation is available, with fees ranging from 500 to 1,000 RMB per month, depending on room type and size.
